about

When we recorded this and started listening to it back to it, I thought this song is so out of character for our band ... it reminded me of The Monkees or something (which isn’t bad).  I like this song 'cause it's as though we’ve achieved something weird, beyond our own usual parameters. A lot of credit for this magical-sounding tune must go to Tom’s production, it was a real instinctive thing because I think the first mix he sent back was almost perfect and of course Jo’s vocal part really makes the song. When I showed the mix to our manager I remember he said “Ahhhh I didn’t really get into this song before, but now I get it!” or something like that.

lyrics

Starin' in the wrong direction.
I got bad reception.
I'm absentee.

Starin' in this time of wonder
And human discovery.
I'm absentee.

Stars are candy in the sky.
Bring 'em down.
Bring 'em down.
We're ants all over 'em. (x2)

Starin' at some kind of waterfall
And a beautiful wall.
In the lucky country.

Starin'
Calculatin'
Infinite pathways into the next reality.

Stars are candy in the sky.
Bring 'em down.
Bring 'em down.
We're ants all over 'em. (x5)

Stars are candy in the sky.
Bring 'em down.
Bring 'em down.
